Tabyldy Dosymov: 60 Years of the Great Bard and KazNU Alumnus

On October 24, 2025, in the student campus of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, a memorial evening was held dedicated to the 60th anniversary of Tabyldy Dosymov — the famous Kazakh bard, poet, and KazNU alumnus.

Tabyldy Dosymov (1965–2011) became a symbol of Kazakh author’s song. His music and poetry are filled with love for the homeland, philosophical depth, and sincerity. At the evening, his iconic songs were performed by contemporary students and young musicians, alongside poetry reflecting his civic stance and spiritual pursuits.

The event was organized by the «BIZ» Student Theater, under the guidance of its talented artistic director Kanat Tiles.

Evening Program:

Guitar musical performances by students dedicated to Dosymov;

Literary readings of his poems and songs;

A video presentation about the life and creative work of the famous KazNU alumnus;

A discussion of his influence on modern Kazakh culture, with participation from faculty and honored guests.

Special attention was given to how Dosymov’s creativity inspires young people to self-expression and the development of their talents.

The evening served as a reminder that KazNU is not only a place of academic knowledge but also a center for cultural education, preservation of traditions, and fostering students’ creative potential. The program emphasized the importance of art, words, and music as tools for personal development and national identity.

Tabyldy Dosymov left a legacy that unites generations.

In 2025, celebrating his 60th anniversary, the university is proud that a KazNU alumnus has become a symbol of sincere creativity, freedom of thought, and love for Kazakhstan.
