SDG-4: Theatre – A Window to the Spiritual World
Students from the Faculty of Physics and Technology, the Faculty of Law, and the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University visited the Gabit Musrepov Kazakh State Academic Theatre for Children and Youth with the aim of enhancing their cultural and spiritual values and broadening their interest in the arts. During the visit, they watched one of the classic masterpieces of Kazakh theatrical art — the play «Karagoz».
The work of the Kazakh literary classic Mukhtar Auezov made a particularly strong impression on the students. The authenticity of the actors’ performances, the depth of the director’s choices, and the harmonious combination of music and lighting immediately immersed the youth in the atmosphere of the play. Through the development of the plot, they were able to closely experience how concepts such as love, tradition, human fate, and tragedy are artistically represented within Kazakh society.
Undoubtedly, the theatre plays a significant role not only in cultivating a general audience but also in shaping the worldview of the younger generation. During this visit, students once again realized the importance of literature and the arts in spiritual development and became more deeply acquainted with theatre culture. In a brief discussion organized after the performance, the students shared their impressions, discussed the director’s decisions and the distinctive traits of the characters, noting that their interest in the arts had clearly increased.
This cultural event not only developed the students’ aesthetic taste but also promoted respect for the rich heritage of Kazakh art and reinforced national spiritual values. Undoubtedly, this theatre visit will remain a lasting memory for them.
