     The kick-off meeting of participants of the Erasmus EduFusion NSG project aimed at developing higher education in Kazakhstan took place
From January 14 to 17, 2025, the first kick-off meeting of the international Erasmus+ EduFusion Network for Sustainable Growth (EduFusion NSG) project was held in Porto, Portugal. The project aims to modernize higher education in Kazakhstan, aligning it with the demands of the contemporary labor market and promoting sustainable economic development.
     The event brought together representatives from 11 organizations across Kazakhstan, Portugal, and Spain. Participants presented their universities and institutions, shared experiences, and discussed strategies for implementing the project from 2024 to 2028. Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (KazNU) was represented by Professor M.Burkitbayev (Department of Inorganic Chemistry), Ye.Sagidolda (PhD, Head of the Department of Electronics and Astrophysics), and B.Khaniyev (PhD, Director of the Research Institute of Experimental and Theoretical Physics).
EduFusion NSG is a large-scale initiative focused on enhancing the quality of higher education with an emphasis on inclusivity, environmental sustainability, and the development of entrepreneurial skills.
     The project is designed to integrate Kazakhstan’s education system with international standards and best practices. One of its key aspects is the creation of a platform for collaboration between academia and businesses, facilitating the development of joint educational initiatives, internships, and entrepreneurship programs. In the long run, this will contribute to economic growth and strengthen Kazakhstan’s position in the field of innovation. Through partnerships with leading universities and organizations in Europe, Kazakhstani universities will gain access to advanced teaching methodologies, modern digital solutions, and best practices in the field of sustainable development.
