New trends in the book industry are presented

The Republican scientific and methodological conference "Printing and Book Studies in the era of digitalization: current trends and development Prospects" was held at the Faculty of Journalism of al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The event was organized by the Department of Publishing, Editorial and Design Art.

The conference was attended by leading scientists, writers, philologists, representatives of research institutes, cultural figures and teachers.

Opening the conference, the editor-in-chief of the newspaper «Қазақ әдебиеті», Corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Professor Bauyrzhan Zhakyp stressed the importance of preserving the national book culture in the face of rapid digitalization: "The digital age requires us not just to adapt, but to deeply understand how new technologies can serve the development of national literature and printing. The book remains the spiritual foundation of society, and our task is to strengthen this foundation with modern methods",- the scientist noted.

During the plenary and breakout sessions, the participants discussed the transformation of publishing, modern standards of content preparation, the role of artificial intelligence in editorial and design practice, as well as the prospects for the development of the book industry in Kazakhstan.

Following the conference, the participants expressed their willingness to implement joint projects, exchange practices and introduce innovations in the field of publishing and book studies.
