The leader of higher education in our country, Al-Farabi Kazakh National Research University was founded in 1934, and to this day we remain an advanced university not only in the Republic of Kazakhstan, but throughout Central Asia. One of the first faculties in the university was the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics. A worthy successor of its bright traditions is the current Faculty of Physics and Technology, which conducts excellent scientific research in different areas of physics and technology.
The faculty has 4 departments: Department of Theoretical and Nuclear Physics; Department of Thermal Physics and Technical Physics; Department of Solid State Physics and Nonlinear Physics; Department of Plasma Physics, Nanotechnology and Computer Physics.
The stable development of the Faculty of Physics and Technology is conditioned by constant monitoring of the most popular specialties and improvement of the quality of educational programs at all levels of study, which attracts the most prepared, motivated and gifted students. The faculty trains specialists in 51 educational programs, there are two-degree and joint programs with the leading universities of the world.
The pride of the faculty is the highly qualified teaching staff, which gives students the opportunity to gain high-quality fundamental education in three languages: Kazakh, Russian and English. From the first years of studying at the faculty, talented young people are actively involved in research activities in relevant areas of modern physics and technology within the framework of established scientific schools.
