At the beginning of the academic year in Turkestan, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University within the framework of a joint project with the Representation of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) held the opening ceremony of the UniSat educational Hub on space technologies.
In the XXI century, space technologies play a leading role for humanity in the accelerating process of globalization. The space-faring powers are already considering space as an arena for demonstrating their superiority in the scientific and technical sphere. Under these conditions, Kazakhstan's constant interest in space issues is caused by the reason that it will enable the republic to be competitive in the global technology market.
Kazakhstan carries out purposeful work on the development of space activities. There is a successful development of competitive space technologies with further implementation. International cooperation in the field of space activities is very important for Kazakhstan, because in the future the country will face a lot of measures for the development of the space industry of the republic, certain subsidies are allocated for this. Kazakhstan needs highly qualified specialists for the development of space activities.
Al-Farabi Kazakh National University contributes to the research of space developments. The University's Science and Technology Park, which has specialized research equipment for conducting applied and fundamental research in the field of natural and technical sciences, pays special attention to the development and support of innovative projects. As is known, the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University within the framework of the 10-day practical UniSat marathon from March 21 to March 31, 2022. The participants designed nanosatellite hulls using 3D modeling, independently programmed subsystems of UniSat nanosatellites and tested them in laboratory conditions before launch. The participants of this educational project (150 girls) from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan assembled, designed and launched three ultra-modern nanosatellites into the stratosphere. UniSat nanosatellites allow you to take pictures of the Earth and space.
Project coordinator, General Director of the Cluster of Engineering and High-tech Technologies of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Temirbayev Amirkhan stressed that it was important not only to gain new knowledge, but also to be able to apply it in practice in conditions of growing competition.
Participants of the joint educational program of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and Al-Farabi Kazakh National University launched two ultramodern UniSat nanosatellites into the upper atmosphere to analyze air pollution. As part of the launch, all participants, with the support of mentors, learned how to process environmental data. The information obtained by nanosatellites can be used for both scientific and practical purposes.
