ORIGINS OF THE STEPPE CIVILIZATION

The revival of culture took place in a renewed ethnic and spiritual content. Under new conditions for itself, the ethnos was open to cultural and ideological innovation, and an appropriate calendar cycle was created. A regular positive balance was established between the environment and the reproduction of material and human resources.
 

A year ago, after a long illness, Viktor Seibert passed away - Doctor of History, Professor of Archaeology, Corresponding Member of the Kazakhstan Academy of Social Sciences, world-renowned outstanding scientist, author of many scientific discoveries, including one. One of the most exciting archaeological discoveries of the 20th century is the Botai culture. Victor Fedorovich was the director of the research institute "Archaeology and Field Civilization" of KazNU named after al-Farabi.

The head of the state Kasym-Jomart Tokayev wrote in his condolences to his family and friends: "Viktor Fedorovich devoted his whole life to archaeological research and excavations, studying the steppe civilization. His name is associated with discoveries unique in their importance about the rich heritage of the Atbasar and Botai cultures, the first evidence of domestication and breeding of horses in the territory of modern Kazakhstan. V. Seibert left a valuable scientific legacy, enjoyed well-deserved authority among his colleagues, and was an example for young scientists."
