KazNU implements joint projects with the Institute of Political Studies in Paris

The Al-Farabi Kazakh National University was visited by a delegation headed by Sabine Dillane, Director of the History Department of the Institute of Political Studies in Paris (Sciences Po Paris).

During the visit, the honored guests met with the university administration. In her welcoming speech, Board Member – Vice-Rector for Operations Assel Uvalieva spoke about the cooperation of KazNU with universities in France. According to academic mobility programs for the 2022-2023 academic year, 48 students, 23 doctoral students and 16 teachers visited French universities in order to study, participate in various conferences, advanced training courses and implement joint projects. 14 professors from French universities visited KazNU to give lectures and provide scientific guidance to PhD doctoral students.

KazNU named after Al-Farabi is currently working closely with 20 universities in France. The Kazakh-French Scientific and Educational Center "Geoenergetics" has been established on the basis of the university, which implements educational double-degree programs, joint research projects. In 2014, cooperation agreements were signed with such French universities as the University of Le Havre, the Engineering School of Nantes, the Higher School of Agriculture of Angers, HEC Paris. The signing of a memorandum with the National Polytechnic University of Lorraine on the establishment of the Kazakh-French Geo2Energy Center will be the second stage of the development of the Geoenergy center.

In April 2023, a delegation of French universities visited the Treasury: Reims Champagne-Ardennes, Le Havre, headed by the Vice-President of the University of Lorraine, Mr. Carl Tombre.

"Today, together with many universities in France, we are developing various scientific and educational projects that bear good fruit," the Vice–rector noted. "We will be glad to cooperate with the Institute of Political Studies (Sciences Po Paris) in order to develop mutually beneficial relations."

In her response, Sabine Dillane, Director of the History Department of the Institute of Political Studies in Paris, thanked for the warm welcome and spoke about the achievements of one of the leading educational institutions in France. The Institute is rightfully considered the forge of the country's political and diplomatic elite, ranks 301-400 in the Shanghai Global Ranking and 48th in the Top 100 best universities in the world.

In the mode of productive dialogue, the parties discussed the prospects for the implementation of joint scientific and educational projects and other mutually beneficial initiatives.
