The Rector of KazNU met with representatives of Huawei

Chairman of the Board – Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev took part in the Huawei Middle East & Central Asia Tech Carnival 2023 summit, which was held in Almaty. The main theme of the event is "Digitalization of higher education".

The event was also attended by the Vice Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kamil Akatov, heads of universities and institutes, representatives of Huawei, etc.

Speaking at a round table meeting held within the framework of the summit, Rector of KazNU Zhanseit Tuimebayev focused on the partnership with Huawei and achievements in the field of digitalization of education. Today, the Huawei Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Academy operates on the basis of KazNU. Close cooperation contributed to the active development of the digital infrastructure and ecosystem at the university.

"Huawei ICT Academy at KazNU has become Huawei's marketing and educational project in Kazakhstan, which has opened up great opportunities for our students. Now they can take certification exams for free, participate in the Seeds For the Future cultural and educational program and take part in the international ICT Competition on network and cloud technologies."

It should be noted that in recent years, Huawei ICT Academy has trained many specialists in the field of network technologies at KazNU who have successfully completed training and received certificates from Huawei. In addition, university students perform at international ICT championships and take prizes.

The head of the university noted that KazNU aims to develop and strengthen partnership with Huawei and voiced the following proposals: to open a third direction within the framework of the ICT Competition – Innovation Competition, so that students can present their own innovative projects using Huawei technologies at the international level; to organize an educational hub Talent Hub on the basis of KazNU; to ensure the supply of additional free equipment in various areas, such as wireless networks, the Internet of Things, data storage systems, cloud computing, machine learning, 5G equipment and artificial intelligence; to organize the free deployment of a demonstration campus network of a smart university on the basis of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

Rector of KazNU Zh. Tuimebayev stressed that the announced proposals will contribute to a new push towards the digitalization of higher education and the creation of a smart university.

During the summit, a series of new ICT products and solutions and the latest innovations and practices in the fields of intelligent IP networks, F5G, and data storage technologies were presented. During the talks, the parties discussed industry trends, new technological developments, the role of cloud technologies in the digital economy, exchanged experiences of digital transformation in various industrial sectors, etc.
