Council on Ethics of Biology and Biotechnology faculty

The Ethics Council was organized at the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology, on December 23, 2022.

Students represented various courses and directions of the faculty, which created a variety of views and opinions on the topic of ethics.

Description of the Ethics Council: The event began with welcoming words from a representative of the Dean's Office of the Faculty, who stressed the importance of ethics in modern society and the academic environment. Next, a special guest, an expert on ethics and professional behavior, delivered a lecture on the topic "Fundamentals of ethics in the academic environment". He touched upon such issues as ethical principles, norms and values, ethics in research and publications, as well as ethical behavior towards partners and colleagues. After the lecture, a panel discussion was organized, in which both students and teachers took part. The participants discussed the current ethical problems faced by students and teachers in the process of education. Examples of cases of ethics violations were given and methods of their prevention were discussed. At the end of the event, the participants received certificates of passing the ethics Council and expressed their gratitude to the organizers for holding such a useful and informative meeting. The Ethics Council at the Faculty of KazNU University is one of many initiatives aimed at developing ethical consciousness and forming civic responsibility among students.
