KazNU will create the first model factory of Industry 4.0 in Central Asia
The autonomous cluster Fund "Park of Innovative Technologies", operating under the Tech Garden brand, became the winner of the grant program "Consortia of the Manufacturing Sector: Competence Centers", within the framework of which the Center of Engineering Competencies in the field of Industrial Robotics and Robotization will be organized at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
This important step will allow organizing and developing the Center of Engineering Competencies in the field of Industrial Robotics and Robotization, which will be based in Almaty at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
The Engineering Competence Center can be considered a model factory for Industry 4.0. It provides startups with a unique platform for studying, demonstrating and testing the concepts of robotization in technological operations. In fact, it is a key platform for the dissemination of knowledge, skills, and opportunities and the further implementation of the developed solutions in industrial companies both in Kazakhstan and abroad.
"The creation of the Center for Engineering Competencies in the Field of Industrial Robotics and Robotization is a logical continuation of our ongoing work, and we look forward to the opportunity to bring this to life. We are convinced that the center will be a catalyst for startups and will strengthen our contribution to the development of digitalization in the industrial sector of Kazakhstan," said Baurzhan Kankin, CEO of the Autonomous Cluster Fund's "Park of Innovative Technologies" Tech Garden. "The Center of Engineering Competencies in the Field of Industrial Robotics will become a new magnet for young minds, where they will be able to create their own startup companies in the field of industrial robotics," said Amirkhan Temirbayev, Deputy Head of the subproject, PhD, General Director of the Cluster of Engineering and High-tech Technologies of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
The main goal of the Engineering Competence Center will be to nurture new startup companies in the field of industrial robotics and robotization. This involves supporting startups in overcoming technical, financial and network barriers that contribute to their development and successful launch.
The members of the consortium, who joined forces to organize the work of the Engineering Competence Center, became: Autonomous Cluster Fund "Park of Innovative Technologies" Tech Garden, NAO "Al-Farabi Kazakh National University", LLP "Automatic Boilers", Association of Legal Entities "Kazakhstan Association of Automation and Robotics", University of Southern Denmark, and RuSvis Huland AG (Switzerland).
The launch of the engineering competence center corresponds to the strategic desire for the formation of innovative ecosystems and contributes to the development of industry. It is planned that the center will begin its activities in the second quarter of 2024.
