19 october, 2023

On October 19, 2023,   the Center  for  Russian Language and Culture  hosted a round table talk on the topic "State symbols of the CIS countries", dedicated to the Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan at  the Philological Faculty of al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

On October 25, 1990, the Declaration on the State Sovereignty of Kazakhstan was adopted. This document became the political and legal basis for the Independence of the Republic. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said in one of his speeches: "Republic Day embodies the revival of the centuries-old traditions of the statehood of Kazakh people. On this day, the dream of our ancestors who fought for our independence became a reality." It was   not only a memorable event, but also a wonderful opportunity for the  representatives from Kazakhstan, Russia, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan to share their symbols and cultural heritage.  Indira Zhanalina, the 1st year  PhD student of  Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, presented the state symbols of Kazakhstan and told about the stages of sovereignty formation. Svetlana Ivanova, the PhD student of  Udmurt State University, made a presentation about the symbols of the Russian Federation. Great interest was also aroused by the report made  by Umida Amurova, the  1st-year Master’s degree student  of al-Farabi Kazakh National University, about the Republic of Uzbekistan. She shared the  information about the peculiarities, cultural wealth  and historical heritage of her country. Also  the event program included the report  about Turkmenistan made the  2nd year  students of the Department of Russian Philology and World Literature. Saule Bayazovna, professor of the Department and head of the Center "Russian Language and Culture" ended the event having  emphasized  that such events play an important role in strengthening friendly and firm  relations and mutual understanding between countries.
