«...On the wind of poems, like cranes in the sky»

On October 12, 2023, the Center for Russian Language and Culture  of the Philological Faculty at   Al-Farabi Kazakh National University  held   an event on the topic: "…On the wind of poems, like cranes in the sky"  dedicated to the 100th anniversary of  Rasul Gamzatov, Dagestani writer, poet, playwright and translator.   

  The event was also supported by  Russian Cooperation Organization  in Almaty. Associate Professors of  Russian and General Linguistics Department of RUDN, Moskvicheva S.A and  Smoliy E.S.,   the coordinator of the dual -degree program of the CIS SU, postgraduate student of the Institute of Russian Language and Literature of Udmurt State University,  Ivanova S.S., Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Philology for Scientific and Innovative Work,  Prof. Bayanbayeva Zh.A.,  the Head of the Department Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Tattimbetova K.O., senior lecturer Jalamova Zh.B.,  the students of the Academy of Sports and Tourism, PhD students,  master’s degree students  and bachelor’s degree  students of al-Farabi Kazakh National University took part in the event.

Begalieva S.B. told that Rasul Gamzatov's poems  had been translated into many languages of the world, including Kazakh. She  read  "Take care of friends" poem,  having focused on SDG 4: “Quality Education”. 

 The PhD student Akasheva A.O. presented a video about  Rasul Gamzatov’s creative work and told about the history of the creation of  "Cranes" poem.

 The graduate student Ivanova S.S. conducted a quiz with students.

During  the event,  the students recited the  poems by Rasul Gamzatov about  a  motherland, a  mother,  friends,  love, peace and war, sang  "Cranes" song.

At the end of the event  each participant was awarded  a certificate of appreciation for participating in the event.

Russian Cooperation Organization  organized  a unique photo exhibition about Rasul Gamzatov in a stylish artistic design.
