World of L. Tolstoy (195 Years)
On December 21, 2023, the world of literary emotions came alive in all its splendor, celebrating the 195th anniversary of the birth of the great Russian writer Leo Tolstoy. The Center for Russian Language and Culture of the Faculty of Philology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University organized an event dedicated to the creativity of Leo Tolstoy.
PhD student A. Zhunisbayeva showed a video material about the life and creative path of the great writer, while PhD students A. Moldabek and I. Zhanalina prepared a presentation on “War and Peace” epic novel sharing interesting historical facts about its creation.
The Bachelor’s degree students, Master’s degree students, PhD students, and the faculty teaching staff participated in the event. They shared their knowledge about the undeniable talent of the ingenious writer and discussed how the author created vivid, deeply developed characters. During the event participants also touched upon his unique style, the skill of analyzing the human soul, and the multifaceted impact of the great Russian writer on literary consciousness.
Making a journey into Tolstoy’s world, where every moment, word, and image become an integral part of his great work and inspire the audience. The participants shared their impressions about Tolstoy’s literary creativity, thereby generating a unique space for literary dialogue.
The event brought together teachers, students, and PhD students, creating an atmosphere of exchanging ideas and cultural values. It was not just a tribute to the great writer, it became evidence that the wise words of Leo Tolstoy remain alive and inspiring, filling souls with profound meaning.
