10 scientific achievements of KazNU scientists

31 december, 2023

Al-Farabi Kazakh National University implements 400 scientific projects, the total cost of which is 8.1 billion tenge.

First. "Development of research program to improve air quality in the cities of Nur-Sultan and Almaty using modern analytical methods and modeling tools" Head - Associate Professor, PhD Baimatova N.Kh.

During the period of the research the concentrations of organic compounds in the air of Almaty and Astana cities were identified and investigated, their sources were determined. The definitions of "air quality targets" and "environmental quality targets (EQTs)" in the context of the legislation of Kazakhstan were considered. As a result of all the above studies, a science-based air quality improvement program was proposed and developed.

Second. "Development of environmentally safe technologies for obtaining innovative products from natural and anthropogenic raw materials of Kazakhstan". Head - Professor Nauryzbaev M.K.

Sample preparation and analysis of initial objects of research was carried out. Leaching of ore of Kundybay deposit depending on the nature and composition of leaching mixture was studied.  Optimal conditions of phosphogypsum conversion were determined. Sorption of rhenium from model and process solutions by a number of ion-exchange resins was studied. 3 patents for utility model and inventions were obtained.

Third. "Research of fundamental and applied problems of plasma physics, plasma-like media for the purposes of solving problems of modern energy and obtaining new functional materials". Head - Professor Ramazanov T.S.

The theory of phase transition for quark-gluon plasma is studied. The braking ability and other dynamic characteristics of dense plasma in laboratory and astrophysical conditions were determined. Various properties of the system were investigated on the basis of the developed models of plasma particle interactions. The work on synthesis of fullerenes in electric arc discharge was carried out. Works on complex diagnostics of hydrogen plasma flow in pulsed plasma gas pedal were carried out in order to study dynamics, various properties, stable and unstable processes in the plasma flow. Recommendations are given for the creation of modern technology for intensification of combustion with low-temperature plasma of low-grade coals and its implementation in the power industry to create effective methods of production of "clean" energy.

Fourth. Autonomous cluster fund "Park of Innovative Technologies", became the winner of the grant program "Manufacturing Sector Consortia: Competence Centers". This important step will allow organizing and developing the center of engineering competencies in the field of industrial robotics and robotization, which will be based in Almaty at the Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi. Head - Director General of the Cluster of Engineering and High Technologies of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Dr. PhD Temirbaev A.A.

Fifth. The project "Ethnic, ethno-confessional discourse of nation-building in South Asia (Afghanistan, India, Pakistan)". Within the framework of this project, the funds of the India Office Records archive in the British Library were studied, and consultations were held with researchers from the School of African and Asian Studies (SOAS) in London, UK. A research article was prepared for submission to the editorial board of a journal submitted by the Science Committee.

Sixth. "Түркі тілдеріне ортақ фразеологизмдердің лексикографиялық жүйесі". The project leader is R. Avakova, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Turkicology and Language Theory.

In the course of work in scientific libraries and electronic resources from the card catalog of common Turkic phraseological units (Kazakh, Karakalpak, Nogai, Tatar, Crimean Tatar, Karachai, Balkar, Bashkir, Turkish, Turkmen, Azerbaijani, Uzbek, Uyghur, Kyrgyz, Altai, Chuvash, Yakut, Tuvan, Khakass, Yellow Uyghur) languages on phraseological expressions with somatic component "head" were selected and their card index was formed. Bibliographic data of lexicographic works of Turkicologists and only thematic data of somatism were collected, lexical-semantics were systematized. On the basis of the analysis of the works of world, Kazakhstani Turkologists the methodological concept of the concept of "common Turkic phraseologisms" is developed.

Seventh. In the current year scientists of KazNU won a megagrant in the amount of 4 billion tenge in the competition of program-targeted financing. Scientific supervisor - Doctor of Geographical Sciences M. Askarova.

The large-scale project is aimed at solving the most important problems of sustainable ecological, social and economic development of the West Kazakhstan region and rational use of water resources.

Eighth. "Modern geopolitical realities and their impact on the spread of ideas of religious radicalism among young people in Central Asia: new trends and international practice". Project leader - Professor K. I. Baizakova.

A comprehensive scientific study was conducted to identify the causes of the spread of ideological influence of transnational religious extremist organizations on young people in Central Asia, taking into account the analysis of international experience and new trends in this area. Recommendations were prepared for the state structures of the Republic of Kazakhstan, forming the system of regional and national security

Ninth. "Development of circular economy in Kazakhstan: potential, trends, prospects". Project leader - PhD, associate professor Aknur Zhidebekkyzyzy.

The aim of the project is to study and analyze the concept of "circular economy" in order to develop recommendations for effective application and dissemination of circularity principles at macro, meso and micro levels in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

As a result, proposals for the development of circular economy in Kazakhstan were developed. The proposed recommendations will accelerate the transition to a circular economy by reducing waste generation, saving resources and promoting sustainable economic growth.

Tenth. Medieval Kishkala (Barshynkent): in the context of urban culture in the era of the Golden Horde. Project leader - Prof. M. Yeleuov

The aim of the project is to conduct archaeological and interdisciplinary research work in the medieval settlement of Kyshkala, to reveal the history of formation, work on the creation and transformation of the monument into a tourist object in the context of urban culture in the era of the Golden Horde.

Archaeological excavations were carried out in the medieval settlement of Kyshkala, reliable data on the periods of emergence, formation and development of the city were obtained. 8 new monuments were built, data on 12 already known monuments were obtained. Also 3 mausoleums, 2 public places, 2 dwelling houses were discovered and investigated.
