KazNU for the first time held a scientific exhibition in China

The event, organized at the invitation of the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, gathered 196 rectors and heads of research centers of local universities, representatives of more than 600 Chinese universities, heads of 40 large manufacturing enterprises and diplomatic corps of the two countries, scientists and entrepreneurs.

Chinese delegation headed by Vice Minister of Education of the People's Republic of China Sun Yao, Vice Chairman of the Committee of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of the People's Political Consultative Council of China, Secretary of the Party Committee of Xinjiang University Xu Xianyi showed special interest in scientific and innovative projects of KazNU.

The large-scale event was attended by: Vice-Minister of Science and Higher Education of RK Darhan Ahmed-Zaki, Chairman of the Board - Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebaev and 30 scientists of KazNU.

To the attention of visitors of the international exhibition, generated by KazNU, were presented scientific-innovative projects, for which a patent has been obtained, and work on commercialization is underway.

Scientific and production center Chemical Coating innovations for the production of chemical galvanic packaging, opened within the framework of the 90th anniversary of KazNU, presented its products at the exhibition.

Scientists of KazNU also presented biologically active supplements and phyto teas from medicinal plants, new antibacterial preparations that treat fish of sturgeon species from various diseases.

Also at the exhibition was presented a nano-spacecraft, first assembled on the basis of KazNU and launched into space. In addition, an innovative designer "ALFASAT" for the development of space robotics and STEM education in educational institutions was demonstrate

Scientists from the Center of Vascular Pathology at the University presented at the exhibition a new device and an innovative method of restoring the permeability of arterial vessels.

The work of the exhibition continued at the international scientific symposium of universities of Kazakhstan and China.

The participants of the meeting discussed common goals and directions of cooperation in the field of education and science, issues of commercialization of scientific projects of KazNU, exchanged experience.

Vice-Minister of Science and Higher Education of RK Darhan Ahmed-Zaki noted the special significance of the first event in China, which consolidated the innovative ideas of scientists of the two countries and emphasized the special role of international experience in the development of university science.

"The work of the international exhibition and symposium as a scientific platform opens a new stage of productive cooperation between the most talented scientists of China and Kazakhstan. I believe that this initiative will make a great contribution to attracting partners for the introduction of productive Kazakhstani scientific projects," - said Vice-Minister.

In his speech, the head of KazNU Zhanseit Tuimebayev noted that the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kasym-Jomart Tokayev in 2023 twice - with a state and official visit - visited the People's Republic of China, noting that recently there has been growing close cooperation between the countries.

"On May 17 and October 17, the Head of State held talks with President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping and discussed the development of comprehensive cooperation in trade and economic, oil and gas, petrochemical, energy, educational, scientific and financial spheres.

During the state visit of the Head of State Kasym-Jomart Tokayev to the People's Republic of China in May, it was agreed to open a branch of the Northwestern Polytechnic University on the basis of KazNU. On October 12, a solemn ceremony of opening of the branch was held at KazNU, where special laboratory classrooms for research work were put into operation.

December 8, 2023 in Al-Farabi Kazakh National University held an exhibition of Chinese universities. The event was organized by the Scholarship Council of KazNU and PRC and the Consulate General of the PRC in Almaty. At the exhibition, representatives of 45 best universities of China told about academic activities and shared their scientific achievements.

I am confident that the working visit of KazNU delegation to Urumqi will also open the way to effective realization of joint scientific projects, introduction of scientific achievements in production, development of cooperation in a new direction", - said the rector of KazNU Zhanseit Tuimebayev.

The symposium was attended by: Vice Minister of Education of China Sun Yao, Vice Chairman of the Committee of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of the People's Political Consultative Conference of China, Secretary of the Party Committee of Xinjiang University Xu Xianyi, member of the Standing Committee of the Party of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Wang Jiangxing, Vice Rector of Tianjin Pedagogical University Bai Xujun, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Professor of Xinjiang University Ushur Slam. The Chinese side noted the importance of the development of partnership between scientists of the two countries and the relevance of innovative projects of KazNU.

At the event, academicians of the National Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan, professors of KazNU Mukhambetkali Burkitbayev and Amangeldy Bisenbayev presented scientific projects implemented under their leadership.

As a result of working visit of KazNU delegation to Urumqi bilateral memorandums were signed with Xinjiang University of the People's Republic of China in the following areas: chemistry and chemical engineering, law, information technology, remote sensing of the Earth, academic and scientific cooperation.

A memorandum of understanding was also signed with Xinjiang University to open a joint research center of Chinese-Kazakh universities, and a memorandum was signed with Xinjiang Pedagogical University.
