Abish Kekilbaev (06.12. 1939 – 11.12. 2015.) - People's writer of Kazakhstan, statesman and public figure, honored worker of Kazakhstan, holder of the Order of the Fatherland, Order of Honor. First Secretary of State of the Republic of Kazakhstan (1996-2002), deputy of the Senate of Parliament (2002-2015). Abish Kekilbaevich is elected as a deputy of the Supreme Council of Kazakhstan twice, Mazhilis - once on an alternative basis. In 1962 he graduated from the philological faculty of KazNU.
