The international scientific and practical conference on the topic "Development of constitutional and legal science of Kazakhstan: history, problems, prospects" was held at the leading university - Al-Farabi Kazakh National University

On April 25, 2024, the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted an international scientific and practical conference on the topic "Development of constitutional and legal science of Kazakhstan: history, problems, prospects". 

This conference is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the founder and head of the Department of Constitutional Law, Doctor of Law, Professor K.F. Kotov (1955-1982); the 100th anniversary of the Head of the Department of Constitutional and Administrative Law, Doctor of Law, Professor V.A. Kim (1982-2001); the 90th anniversary of Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the first Chairman of the First Constitutional Courts of the Republic of Kazakhstan (1992-1995) by M.T. Baymakhanov.   

The conference was held as part of the celebration of the 90th anniversary of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

The purpose of the conference is to discuss the problems of the history of the formation and development of the theoretical and legal and constitutional science of Kazakhstan, the prospects for the development of constitutional construction in the country. The following issues were considered at the conference: 

• The history of the formation and development of theoretical and legal and constitutional law science in Kazakhstan; 

• Issues of personnel training for the state apparatus in the works of Professor K.F. Kotov;

• Problems and prospects of development of constitutional and legal legislation in the works of Professor V.A. Kim; 

• Issues of development and strengthening of the rule of law in the works of Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan Baimakhanov M.T.;

• Constitutional reform in 2022 and improvement of constitutional and legal legislation of sovereign Kazakhstan, the electoral system and electoral law, the foundations of multiparty system in the Republic of Kazakhstan;

• Improvement of the constitutional and legal mechanism forthe protection of the rights and freedoms of citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan; 

The conference was actively attended by leading scientists of Kazakhstan, representatives of state bodies of the Republic of Kazakhstan, representatives of civil society, teachers, doctoral students, undergraduates, students and media representatives.

The organizer of this conference is the Department of Theory and History of State and Law, Constitutional and Administrative Law of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
