Scientific Coverage of the Socio-Educational Event on the Topic: “Formation of Professional Speech for Achieving the SDGs”

On December 9, 2024, the Department of Turkology and Language Theory held a socio-educational roundtable discussion on the topic: “Formation of Professional Speech for Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).” The event was held in Room 228 and was organized for the PhD students majoring in in “Linguistics,” “Turkology,” and “Foreign Language: Two Foreign Languages.” The event was moderated by Doctor of Philology, Professor G.B. Madiyeva and the organizing committee including PhD A.M. Dosanova, PhD A.K. Tausogarova, PhD Zh.T. Taubayev, and the second-year PhD students majoring in “Linguistics.”
The roundtable discussion covered the key aspects of professional speech development as a critical component of preparing young scholars and specialists to meet the SDGs outlined by the UN. Special attention was given to SDG 4: “Quality Education.”
Professor Madiyeva emphasized the importance of developing professional competencies among young scholars and students to meet contemporary challenges in science and education. She highlighted the significance of adhering to the principles of scientific organization of labor, which is essential not only in professional activities but also in daily life.
A significant theoretical component of the event was the discussion of the principles and postulates of the SDGs.
The participants considered how professional speech skills contribute to advancing the SDGs, particularly through the dissemination of scientific knowledge, the development of research competencies, and the promotion of sustainable development ideas in the socio-cultural sphere.
The roundtable discussion served as a platform for exchanging experiences, opinions, and new approaches to developing professional speech in the context of preparing specialists capable of addressing the challenges of global sustainable development. Such events play a crucial role in fostering both professional and personal competencies in young researchers, ultimately contributing to achieving the global goals of sustainable development.
