
On February 6, 2025, the senior teachers of the Department of Foreign Philology and Translation Studies Tairova G.A. and Ongarbayeva M.S. together with the students of two groups of the 2nd year majoring in "Foreign Philology" (Western languages) visited the G. Musrepov Children's and Youth Theater to watch "Wormwood smell" play within the framework of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4, which is aimed at ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education and promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all. This event was an important step towards cultural enrichment and expanding the educational opportunities of students. The goals of the event were to introduce students to theatrical art as one of the ways to gain knowledge and to develop critical thinking, to promote the development of interest in culture and art and to instill aesthetic taste in students. "Wormwood smell" play is a bright theatrical work based on traditional motifs and modern interpretations. It touches on important social issues, making it relevant for discussion among young people. After the performance, the students were full of emotions and impressions. During the discussion, they noted the fact that many were touched by the story and the feelings conveyed by the characters, as well as the cultural significance, the attention of the theater as an important part of cultural heritage and an opportunity for self-expression. Going to the theater was an important step in implementing SDG 4. The students not only had the opportunity to enjoy art, but also developed their skills in analysis, critical thinking and cultural awareness.
