The quality of educational programs will improve

A strategic expert session was held at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University on the topic "Ensuring the Quality of Educational Programs: Academic Approaches and Innovative Solutions"
At the traditional event, participants shared experiences and ideas on the integration of education, science, and business.
The goal was to assess the effectiveness of educational programs (EP) in the context of the harmonization of the labor market and the education sector, as well as to reflect on the development of the artificial intelligence field.
The plenary session was attended by acting head of the Department of Higher and Postgraduate Education, Rysgul Kudretollaeva, a member of the Board of KazNU and Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Altai Kazmagambetov, Doctor of Political Science and Professor Amantai Nurmagambetov, leader of the project group "Mamandyghym – bolashaghym" Olzhas Sakenov, as well as representatives of domestic and foreign companies, experts, and scholars.
A member of the Board and Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Altai Kazmagambetov, focused on academic issues at KazNU and discussed the ongoing work to improve university science.
"120 universities in Kazakhstan offer more than 8,000 educational programs, 245 of which are joint and dual-degree programs, and 21 are in the field of artificial intelligence. 57 percent of the educational programs on the list have been updated. However, alongside achievements, higher education faces complex challenges. In the context of dynamic changes in the labor market, the need for constant updates of educational programs and the development of innovative EPs becomes crucial", - he noted.
In turn, Rysgul Kudretollaeva highlighted the work being done by the Ministry to develop higher education and science.
"The Ministry of Science and Higher Education, in accordance with the instructions of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, pays special attention to the further development of the education system. The main document in this regard is the Concept for the Development of Higher Education and Science for 2023-2029. This document outlines measures for the development of the Kazakhstani model of workforce training, with the involvement of businesses and employers in the development of educational programs. To implement this concept, the Ministry is transitioning to a staffing model implemented within the framework of the 'Profession – Future' project. Currently, 9 regional atlases have been developed, and as part of the project, more than 500 new specialties have been defined across 43 areas of the economy", - said Rysgul Kudretollaeva.
Participants shared their recommendations on the formation of a new model for training specialists needed in the labor market, the application of new standards for integrating micro-credentials into educational programs, and the implementation of an inclusive education model.
The panel session continued in sections focusing on artificial intelligence in higher education, microlearning, the effectiveness of dual education, and the inclusive-oriented training of teachers.
