26 february, 2025

Psychological Support of Al-Farabi KazNU and the Scientific and Practical Center «Inclusive Environment» within the framework of SDG-4: «Quality Education» held a seminar-training on «Conflict and Ways to Resolve It» for students living in Dormitory No. 5 on February 26. The training started with the «Introduction» exercise aimed at establishing positive relationships between the participants.

The goal of the psychological training was to master the professional skills necessary for studying, learn self-regulation and self-control skills, and also increase self-confidence. In addition, various exercises aimed at overcoming students' inner fear and anxiety, as well as developing openness, were conducted. The meeting was filled with many useful and interesting emotions.

Conflict is a situation where there is a clash of interests, values, beliefs, or goals between two or more parties. It is a natural part of human interaction, but it is important to be able to manage conflicts so that they do not turn into destructive or prolonged disputes.

The main cause of conflicts is differences, whether they are personal values, beliefs, interests, or goals. Sometimes we cannot understand another person because we do not accept their point of view. This can lead to misunderstandings, emotional tension, and ultimately to an open conflict. However, it is important to realize that conflict is not always negative. It often signals the presence of unresolved issues, indicating that relationships need clarification or revision.

During the training, students learned to work with their emotions, maintain calmness in difficult situations, and make the right decisions. Through the exercises, their mutual confidence increased, they built good relationships with each other, and improved their teamwork skills. Participants in the training analyzed their strengths and weaknesses and identified directions for personal development.

This training not only provided psychological support but also contributed to increasing students' motivation for self-improvement, helping to improve their social and professional skills. At the end of the seminar, all participants expressed their readiness to apply the knowledge gained in life and noted that the meeting was impressive and useful.
