Development of applied Kazakh linguistics

The Al-Farabi Scientific Library hosted an international scientific and practical conference on the topic "Scientific foundations and applied aspects of Kazakh linguistics", dedicated to the 40th anniversary of the Faculty of Pre-university Education of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

The conference was held as part of the IV International Farabi Forum dedicated to the 1155th anniversary of Abu Nasr al-Farabi.

The event was opened by a member of the Board of KazNU, Acting Vice–Rector for Scientific and Innovative Activities Margulan Ibraimov, noting the importance and relevance of this event for the scientific community.

The following speakers addressed the plenary session of the conference: Associate Professor of Nukus State University, PhD Shirin Smamutova, Professor of the Academy of National Security, Candidate of Philological Sciences Gulmira Birali, Professor of KazNUTZU named after K.Satpayev, Doctor. Sarah Koyanbekova, Associate Researcher at the Baitursynov Institute of Linguistics, Mentor at the Bolashak Faculty of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies at Oxford University, Didar Akhmet Sadik, Doctor of the Institute of Turkology at Hadjettepe University, PhD Serap Pylgir (Turkey), Junior Researcher at the Institute of Linguistics. A.Baitursynova, Director of the Center for Education and Development "Senim" Aisulu Kasymbek.

The participants discussed the functional aspects of the Kazakh language, innovative methods of teaching the language, the experience of using digital technologies and the study of the Kazakh language in a multilingual environment, and also suggested effective methods of working on these issues.

The conference continued in the following sections: "New directions in linguistics", "Digitalization of the Kazakh language and innovation", "Current problems of teaching foreign citizens".

The sessions of the sections discussed new research directions in linguistics and their role in society, the possibilities of introducing online platforms, mobile applications and virtual technologies into the language learning process. It was also proposed to develop textbooks and methodological materials in accordance with the educational standards of the Republic of Kazakhstan for international students.
