Debates on Artificial Intelligence and Academic Integrity Held at KazNU

On October 2, 2025, at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics, Department of Computational Sciences and Statistics, a debate was held on the topic “Artificial Intelligence in Education: Prospects, Risks, and Its Impact on Academic Integrity.”
During the event, the importance of the strategic objectives set within the framework of the “Digital Kazakhstan” program aimed at the development of artificial intelligence and big data was highlighted. In particular, discussions focused on the introduction of digital solutions in education and science, strengthening domestic IT infrastructure, and involving young researchers in mastering new technologies.
🤖 AI Week served as a platform for students and young researchers to deepen their knowledge in the field of artificial intelligence, exchange experiences, and discuss new scientific ideas. The main goal of the program was to enhance the scientific potential of students through practical seminars, trainings, and workshops on machine learning, data processing, neural networks, and remote sensing technologies.
Within the framework of AI Week, the following topics were addressed:
• Application of machine learning algorithms in finance, medicine, and geology;
• Big data analysis and visualization;
• Development of intelligent solutions based on satellite data;
• Modeling and forecasting methods using artificial intelligence.
During the sessions, students and young researchers not only learned to work with modern AI tools but also discussed opportunities to apply them in their own scientific projects.
Such events contribute to the implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), in particular:
SDG 4 “Quality Education” — development of students’ competencies in innovative technologies;
SDG 9 “Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure” — promoting research and application of artificial intelligence;
SDG 17 “Partnerships for the Goals” — strengthening cooperation between the university and alumni working internationally.
