Educational program
The formation of students' competencies for working as a public relations specialist after completing the educational program; getting the ability of performing professional functions on the basis of understanding the advanced achievements of public relations (PR) and communications; the formation of the ability to use classical and digital PR tools, and the skills to implement PR projects in Kazakhstan and abroad.
Upon completion of this program, it is expected that undergraduates will:
1. Able to provide communication with government agencies, professional communities, the media, bloggers, own the principles of business communication.
2. They are able to organize and conduct events, increase the coverage of participants both through traditional regular communications and using digital technologies.
3. They are able to model various types of advertising, draw up advertising offers for clients, and monetize communication services.
4. They will be able to distinguish between the basic subjects and objects, types, functions and mechanisms of public relations (PR) in the world and in Kazakhstan, using the experience of Kazakhstani PR, updated by the National Association of Public Relations and the club «PR-shi», to interpret the problems of modern public relations in Kazakh, Russian, English and other languages.
5. They are able to strengthen the appropriate image and business capital of the organization, brand of goods, services and countries, maintain a person’s reputation, mentality and spiritual values.
6. Able to use the methods and techniques of public relations in politics, economics, society, culture, sports, ecology, intercultural communications, the most extraordinary forms: interactivity, convergence, synergy.
7. They are able to prepare informational materials, letters, and appeals to authorities and answers to requests, create «socially significant information» and «news stories» using written, oral, online and combined tools for stakeholders and target audiences.
8. They are able to support the work of the press service, press secretary and PR service of organizations of various ownership forms.
9. They are able to carry out monitoring and analysis of legislative, political decisions and trends, assess public opinion, laws related to the communication sphere, and adhere to ethical principles.
10. They are able to put into practice their knowledge in the field of social sciences and humanities that have a global importance.
11. Able to carry out strategic planning in communications, the implementations of PR-activities based on the choice of concepts of competitiveness, in times of crisis and determine their effectiveness in the real sector and social networks.
12. They are able to discuss professional problems, defend their point of view, draw conclusions, apply the skills of writing scientific and research texts, formulate logically sound proposals, recommendations, conclusions on specialized and related industries.
