Educational program

Qualitative preparation of doctoral candidates for the implementation of research activities in the museum and organizations involved in the protection of monuments, including international ones; systematization and interpretation of scientific theories and concepts in the field of modern museology; management of cultural institutions and marketing activities; and also carrying out an expert assessment of monuments of history and culture; implementation, the choice of methodology with a projection on the development of promising new areas of museological science. It also meets the needs of the cultural industry in personnel with basic training and an understanding of the sustainable trend of including modern museums in solving a wide range of social problems.

LO1 conduct a methodology of museology providing processing in the process of museum documentation and museum communication, focused on practical activities in the museum; carry out research on conceptual models of museum functions through the concepts of: research and educational institution, communication system, cultural form; carry out scientific museology research based on the modern achievements of a culture that studies museum objects, their social properties, relationships, and museum processes in their historical dynamics.
LO2 develop priorities and principles of museum policy to create concepts for the development of museum institutions and public areas of museum activity based on a communication approach and new trends in museum exhibiting; to organize and conduct research expeditions to collect museum materials in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan; integrate interdisciplinary knowledge into the research process on the problems of museology, for the analysis of modern research approaches.
LO3 organize and plan directions of scientific work based on the goals, objectives and profile of the museum institution; аpply scientific criteria, principles in research, present scientific research at various conferences, implement programs of interdisciplinary research in the context of the preservation, study and popularization of historical and cultural heritage; draw conclusions on research projects and research reports.
LO4 to develop the forms and methods of cultural and educational activities, the scientific concept of acquisition, the criteria for selecting materials for a stock collection in order to document the natural-historical (natural), historical processes in the region; own the methodology of theoretical and experimental research in the field of museology, museum science and culture; apply the theoretical foundations and methods of museological and historical studies in the preparation of core personnel. carry out educational activities under the programs of museology education and museum work; create and compose audio and video materials for scientific and educational purposes;
LO5 create a scientific concept of stock work, giving a systematic view of the museum’s activities in accounting, storage, scientific processing, conservation and restoration of museum funds; to develop scientific forecasts and conduct examinations on cultural issues, architectural and historical monuments, materials of archeology and ethnology; critically evaluate research results; analyze modern problems, approaches, new trends in museology.
LO6 to make reasoned expert opinions (interpretations) on the authenticity, attribution, identification, uniqueness of cultural values; based on interdisciplinary research and a holistic systemic scientific worldview;
LO7 create marketing models of museums, using the existing experience of working with visitors, which can reliably determine the interests and needs of a potential audience and justify ways to satisfy them; to create marketing models of museums using modern technologies of scientific communication, applying diverse experience working with visitors, identifying the interests and needs of potential audiences and ways to satisfy them.
LO8 develop a museum management concept based on a macro- and microsegmentation strategy.
