1. 76 postdocs have been conducting research at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, of which 66 postdocs are within the framework of "Zhas Galym" Program, 10 postdocs with funding from University. The total amount of financing attracted within the framework of "Zhas Galym" for 2022-2025 amounted to 1.3 billion tenge. In 2018-2023 Al-Farabi Kazakh National University funded the training of postdocs. 39 young scientists have completed the postdoctoral program at KazNU. Postdocs have published more than 380 articles in journals indexed in the Scopus and Web of Science databases, 2/3 of all publications are articles of the first and second quartile (Q1, Q2) of the Scopus database. They have established scientific groups and implemented scientific projects as well.
2. Postdoc, Acting Professor of the Department of Mechanics of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, PhD Yerzhan Belyayev participated in the 3rd Journal of Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry Conference and 9th V4 (Joint Czech-Hungarian-Polish-Slovakian) Thermoanalytical Conference (https://akcongress.com/jtacc/) with a presentation at topic "Thermal performance analysis of a heat pump assisted regenerative solar still". The conference was held in Balatonfured, Hungary on June 20-23, 2023. Postdoc Yerzhan Belyayev presented the results of joint work with scientists from India and Yessenov University of Kazakhstan.
3. Postdoc of the Department of Chemical Physics and Materials Science of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Tauzhanov Zhandos took part in the international conference "12th International Advances in Applied Physics & Materials Science Congress & Exhibition (APMAS)". At this conference, he made a presentation on the topic "Adsorption of mercury on the surface of coal fly ash derived zeolites and nanocomposites: equilibrium studies and mechanisms". The conference was held on October 13-19, 2022 in Mugla, Turkey. The conference was attended by more than 100 participants from 25 countries with oral and poster presentations on modern research areas in the field of fundamental and applied physics and materials science. According to the results of participation in the international conference, Tauzhanov Zhandos received the necessary knowledge on the processing of man-made waste and the chemistry of porous materials for use in wastewater treatment.
4. Within the framework of postdoctoral studies, the laboratory "Data Analysis in Astrophysics of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University" was established by the postdoctoral fellow of the Faculty of Physics and Technology Serik Khokhlov. The “Data Analysis in Astrophysics” laboratory operates within the Department of Solid State Physics and Nonlinear Physics, Faculty of Physics and Technology, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. Founded in 2020, the laboratory serves as an educational and scientific unit focused on fundamental research in the field of astronomy and astrophysics in Kazakhstan. The scientific activities of the “Data Analysis in Astrophysics” laboratory encompass the study of close binary systems (cataclysmic variables with various accretion rates, stars with Be and Be[e] phenomena). Research tasks and issues are addressed using observational, theoretical, and computer modeling methods. The laboratory is equipped for studying close binary systems, including access to observational data (photometric and spectral observations) from telescopes in observatories in Kazakhstan and other countries (Mexico, Czech Republic, USA), as part of established international collaborations. The laboratory possesses computational resources for data processing, analysis, and modeling, and its collective team has the necessary scientific and technical qualifications, as evidenced by publications in high-ranking astrophysics journals. The “Data Analysis in Astrophysics” laboratory conducts scientific research funded by grants from the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, dedicated to scientific and/or scientific-technical projects.
