DEPARTMENT OF RESEARCH AND INNOVATION
The purpose of the Research and Innovation Activity Department is to contribute to most efficient use of the scientific and intellectual potential of al-Farabi KazNU, as well as to the complex development of scientific-research and scientific-industrial activities for increase of efficiency of Scientific Research and Development Works’ results and training quality, organization of innovative activities, realization of educational programs and strengthening of the international cooperation of scientists and experts.
About us

The Department includes research divisions of the University and its faculties: scientific research institutes, Scientific Centers, Scientific-Technological Park, National Nanolaboratory etc., the Research Activity Division, Innovative Activity Division and Certification of the Scientific Staff Division.
The head collegial governing body of the Department is the Scientific and Technical Council on Scientific Research Activity (STS on SRA), acting on the basis of Regulations on Coordination Council on SRA.

Office of Training and Certification of Research Personnel
Office of Training and Certification of Research Personnel aim to provide activities for the training and certification of highly qualified research personnel (Master’s and PhD students, postdocs) for the effective reproduction, generation, development of intellectual potential and human resources for research and innovation development in Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The main tasks of the Office are coordination, monitoring and analysis of the training and certification of highly qualified researchers.
Office of Analytics and Coordination of Scientific Projects
The Office of Analytics and Coordination of Scientific Projects coordinates the scientific research and development works, pilot productions, student design bureaus carried out at the university and unites all research departments of the university, research institutes, scientific centers and technopark in matters of innovation.

Office of Science and Publication Activity
Increasing the status and recognition of the university in the scientific and professional community by ensuring an increase in the publication activity of the teaching staff, young scientists of the university, the inclusion of journals in the list of publications recommended by the Committee for Control in Education and Science, the promotion of peer-reviewed scientific journals of KazNU and English-language editions and their Indexing in the scientific repositories and bibliographic systems.
Ethical Committee
The Ethical Committee reviews and evaluates research protocols, information for a participant and a form of informed consent, professional experience of researchers, research centers, and other documents in relation to human rights, principles of fairness, usefulness, confidentiality and absence of harm for participants.
