A CV Writing Lecture–Workshop Held at the Faculty of Physics and Technology. SDG 4 and SDG 8.
On 20 November 2025, the Faculty of Physics and Technology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted an educational event dedicated to the development of professional CV-writing skills (Curriculum Vitae) and effective self-presentation for employment and applications to international programmes.
The workshop took place in Room 330 (Dean’s Meeting Hall) and was organized by the student organization “Al-Farabi Kazakh National University SPE Student Chapter.”
During the session, students received detailed guidance on preparing academic and professional CVs, discussing CV structure, key sections, techniques for highlighting achievements, and common formatting errors. Special attention was given to describing research and project experience, participation in conferences, internships, and grant programmes in a clear and professional manner.
Participants were introduced to practical materials and examples, including the professional Stanford Career Center guide featuring CV samples and recommendations on structure, content, and formatting.

This workshop directly contributes to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted by Al-Farabi Kazakh National University:
SDG 4 – Quality Education.
The event enhances students’ access to modern educational practices and supports the development of academic literacy, career preparation, and self-presentation skills.
SDG 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth.
Training in professional CV writing strengthens students’ competitiveness in the labour market, fosters human capital development, and equips them for successful career pathways.
Thus, the workshop became an important component of the Faculty’s ongoing efforts to support students’ professional development and their readiness for successful international and career trajectories.
