On November 21, 2025, an important cultural and educational event was organized for 4th-year students majoring in Religious Studies at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The students watched the feature film “No.37”, based on the stage production of the independent ŞAM Theatre, followed by a dedicated discussion session where they analyzed the film’s content and its educational significance.

The main goal of the event was to shape future religious studies specialists’ perspectives on pressing social issues through artistic expression, deepen their understanding of spiritual and moral values, and develop critical thinking skills. The film “No.37” enabled students to reconsider key themes such as individual destiny in modern urban life, social pressure, psychological distress, and family responsibility from a new perspective.

During the discussion, participants emphasized the film’s strong social message. Students noted that the film vividly portrays inner emotional struggles, the consequences of social indifference and irresponsibility, and the gradual weakening of spiritual values. They also explored the connection between the film’s themes and core concepts in religious studies, including moral responsibility, value systems, and ethical consciousness.

As a result of the discussion, the following key values were highlighted:

                      responsible attitude toward human life;

                      resistance to social indifference;

                      the importance of family as a духовный опора;

                      the culture of patience and resilience;

                      the value of compassion and mercy.

This cultural event had a positive impact on the students’ personal development, increased their social awareness, and contributed to the expansion of their professional worldview. Such initiatives not only strengthen the spiritual education of young people but also help foster a deeper sense of responsibility toward society.

In conclusion, the cultural and educational event based on the film “No.37” became a meaningful platform that encouraged students to develop creative thinking and reevaluate essential life values.

Organizers of the event:

K.K. Begalinova – Doctor of Philosophy, Professor

R.A. Zhamal – 2 nd-year Master’s student in Islamic Studies
