International Academic Meeting at the Faculty of Law: Lecture by Professor Liu Xuelian on the Development of Modern Chinese Law
Today, the Faculty of Law hosted a highly significant and engaging day of international academic exchange. As part of the event, students had a unique opportunity to meet leading scholars from the People's Republic of China — an important step toward strengthening the faculty’s international relations and expanding its academic potential.
Our distinguished guest was Professor Liu Xuelian from Xinjiang University, a renowned expert in comparative law and legal system reforms in China. During her lecture, Professor Liu discussed key trends in the development of modern Chinese law, the influence of digitalization on public administration mechanisms, and presented a comparative analysis of the legal institutions of Kazakhstan and China.

Special attention was given to the prospects of international educational cooperation, joint research initiatives, and opportunities for academic mobility. Students showed great interest, actively asking questions regarding research grants, internships, master's and doctoral programs, as well as practice-oriented legal research. The interactive discussion format allowed participants to gain valuable insights and discover new professional perspectives.
This event not only broadened the students’ academic horizons but also deepened their professional understanding by offering a rare opportunity to engage with a high-level international expert. The meeting further strengthened the faculty’s position as a center for international cooperation and paved the way for new partnership projects with leading universities in China.
Such events play a crucial role in shaping the global vision of future legal professionals and contribute to the faculty’s integration into the international academic community. We are confident that similar international exchanges will continue, opening even more opportunities for both students and faculty members.
