Career Guidance Meeting on Study Opportunities in China Held within the Framework of SDG
On December 11, 2025, PhD holders and senior lecturers of the Department of Chinese Studies at the Faculty of Oriental Studies, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, N.B. Saparbaeva and E.A. Kerimbaev, conducted a career guidance meeting with students of the Linguistic College affiliated with Ablai Khan Kazakh University of International Relations and World Languages. The main purpose of the event was to provide comprehensive information on educational programs offered in the People’s Republic of China, academic mobility opportunities, and various scholarship and grant schemes, as well as to explain the admission and study conditions at Al-Farabi KazNU. The meeting was organized within the framework of Sustainable Development Goal SDG 4 – Quality Education.
During the meeting, participants were informed about bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral programs implemented at leading Chinese universities, scholarships of the Government of the People’s Republic of China, university-based and international funding opportunities, as well as application requirements and selection procedures.
Students, master’s students, and doctoral candidates of the Department of Chinese Studies took part in the event and shared their personal experiences of studying and undertaking internships in China. The participation of guests from the People’s Republic of China gave the meeting an international dimension and enabled participants to receive first-hand information about China’s higher education system and academic environment.
The meeting was attended by more than 20 students, including college students, undergraduate students of Al-Farabi KazNU, as well as master’s and doctoral students.
The career guidance meeting significantly contributed to raising students’ awareness of international educational programs and scholarship opportunities, expanding access to quality education, and enhancing the academic potential of young people.
