Introductory Meeting with First-Year Students Held. SDG 4 and SDG 17

Al-Farabi Kazakh National University held its traditional introductory meeting for first-year students. The event, organized by curators-advisors A. Kuikabayeva, A. Nurmukhanova, E. Nurymov, G. Taimanova, and G. Ilyasova, was aimed at ensuring the successful adaptation of new students to the academic environment of the university.

As part of the program, students were introduced to the main infrastructure of the campus and visited the “Keremet” Student Service Center. The university library staff conducted an informative tour, providing comprehensive information about library collections, digital resources, and opportunities for academic and research activities.

Head of the Department, Saltanat Alihanqyzy Bolegenova, and Deputy Head, Zhanar Qaiyrzhanqyzy Shortanbayeva, welcomed the students and emphasized the importance of high-quality education, scientific inquiry, and professional responsibility. The department leadership wished the students success in their academic journey and encouraged them to strive for excellence.

This event contributes to the implementation of the following Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):

• SDG 4 – Quality Education, by ensuring access to modern educational resources and fostering conditions for the academic growth of students;

• SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals, by strengthening cooperation between the department, students, and university units.

First-year students noted that the meeting had left a strong positive impression and highlighted their pride in becoming part of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
