SDG 2 Seminar-Training: “A Hunger-Free Society and a Culture of Healthy Nutrition”
On December 10, a seminar-training within the framework of Sustainable Development Goal 2 (SDG 2) entitled “A Hunger-Free Society and a Culture of Healthy Nutrition” was held at the Department of Biophysics, Biomedicine and Neuroscience. The event was attended by second- and third-year students of the educational program 6B05109 “Neuroscience” and was conducted under the guidance of the advisor-curator, Senior Lecturer Aisha Kanatovna Zhantleuova.
During the seminar-training, key aspects of hunger and food security issues in modern society were discussed, as well as the formation of a culture of healthy nutrition as an important factor in maintaining physical and cognitive health. Special attention was paid to the relationship between nutrition and nervous system functioning, the prevention of deficiency conditions, and the role of sustainable agriculture in ensuring access to high-quality and affordable food.
Based on scientific and statistical data, global and regional challenges related to malnutrition and unequal access to food resources were examined, along with modern approaches to improving population nutrition. Students actively participated in discussions, shared their perspectives, and took part in training activities aimed at fostering conscious attitudes toward nutrition and sustainable consumption.
The seminar-training contributed to increasing students’ awareness of SDG 2 goals, promoting responsibility for personal health, and enhancing understanding of the importance of sustainable food systems for the future of society.
