An information and orientation meeting for students entitled “Master’s Degree — A Step into a World of Opportunities” was held in Room 226 of the Faculty of International Relations. The event was organized in accordance with the Plan approved by the decision of the Academic Council on September 29, 2025, and aimed at attracting talented graduates to master’s and doctoral programs, as well as increasing students’ interest in pursuing an academic career.
The main purpose of the meeting was to explain the key opportunities offered by master’s degree studies and to develop students’ informed understanding of the prospects for research and professional activities after completing a bachelor’s degree. The event was attended by students of the Faculty of International Relations who are interested in further education and development within the academic and expert community.
The meeting was organized by A.A. Maltabarov, G.S. Baikushikova, and A.V. Khamzaeva. During the session, participants were provided with information on existing master’s degree programs, admission requirements, criteria for applicants, as well as opportunities to participate in research projects, grants, and academic mobility programs. Special attention was paid to the role of master’s studies as a stage in developing analytical, research, and applied competencies that are in demand both in academia and in professional practice.
The discussion also addressed issues related to continuing studies at the doctoral level, prospects for an academic career, and opportunities to combine academic training with practical professional activities. Participants were informed about the importance of master’s education for future employment, including careers in analytical centers, government institutions, international organizations, and educational establishments.
The meeting was held in an open dialogue format. Students had the opportunity to ask questions regarding the specifics of educational programs, academic supervision, research requirements, and future career paths. This format helped create a constructive and trusting atmosphere, encouraging active student engagement in the discussion.
Organizing such events plays an important role in the Faculty of International Relations’ efforts to support academically motivated students and to develop the university’s human capital. The meeting “Master’s Degree — A Step into a World of Opportunities” became part of a consistent strategy aimed at strengthening academic continuity, promoting master’s and doctoral education, and increasing students’ interest in research activities.
The organizers noted that similar information meetings will continue in the future in order to further raise students’ awareness of academic growth opportunities and to engage them more actively in the university’s research environment.
