On December 12, 2025, an informal and educational event entitled “The Path to Independence”, dedicated to Independence Day, was held for first-year students majoring in Physics at the Faculty of Physics and Technology under the guidance of A.O. Koshymova, Acting Associate Professor of the Department of History of Kazakhstan, Faculty of History. The event was organized within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goal “4. Quality Education”.
The main objective of the event was to broaden students’ historical awareness, introduce them to the key stages in the process of achieving independence by the Republic of Kazakhstan, and promote a deeper understanding of the values of independence.
During the event, participants were presented with a chronological overview of the historical processes and events that led to independence; the stages of the formation of sovereignty were thoroughly explained and analyzed. The session also opened with the performance of the National Anthem, which enhanced the ceremonial atmosphere of the occasion.
To increase student engagement, educational activities in a question-answer format relate to the history of independence were organized. This approach stimulated students’ interest and facilitated more effective assimilation of historical knowledge.
Overall, the “Path to Independence” event served as a meaningful educational platform aimed at increasing young people’s interest in national history and fostering a profound appreciation of the value of sovereignty.
