SDG 4: Quality Education. “Developing Digital Literacy Among Vulnerable Groups
On December 19, 2025, a training event titled “Developing Digital Literacy Among Vulnerable Groups” was held at the Community Center and library as part of SDG 4: Quality Education.
The event was organized by the Faculty of Information Technology and the Department of Cybersecurity and Cryptology.
The main goal of the training was to enhance the digital competencies of individuals from vulnerable groups, teaching them to use the internet, social media, and electronic government services safely, as well as to promote a culture of protecting personal data in the online environment.
During the two-hour program, participants completed the following learning modules:
an interactive mini-lecture on “Safe Internet: phishing, scams, and misinformation”;
a practical session on setting up privacy controls in social networks;
a step-by-step guide on using Egov.kz and the eGov Mobile application to access electronic government services.
Students took part in the training, expanding their knowledge of digital safety, privacy protection, and ways to prevent online fraud. They also completed hands-on tasks and received individual assistance in configuring their smartphones and applications.
This event contributed significantly to promoting digital inclusion among vulnerable groups and fostering a culture of safe and responsible use of information technologies.
