A Student of the Faculty of Physics and Technology of KazNU Selected for an International JINR Program (SDG 4 and SDG 17)
Gulnisa Tarverdiyeva, a 4th-year graduating student of the Faculty of Physics and Technology at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, enrolled in the Educational Program “Materials Science and Technology of New Materials”, has successfully passed a competitive selection process and has been admitted to an international educational program implemented at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR, Dubna).
Gulnisa is the only representative of the Republic of Kazakhstan selected for this program, which represents a significant achievement both for the student and for the Faculty of Physics and Technology of KazNU.
The program is aimed at advanced training of students and early-career researchers in the fields of modern physics, nuclear and related technologies, as well as at fostering international scientific cooperation. Participation in the program includes education and research activities in an international research environment under the supervision of leading scientists.
The participation of a KazNU student in this international program contributes to the implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, in particular:
-
SDG 4 — Quality Education, by expanding access to international educational and research programs;
-
SDG 17 — Partnerships for the Goals, through strengthening international scientific collaboration.
The Faculty of Physics and Technology of KazNU consistently supports student engagement in international scientific and educational initiatives, creating opportunities for professional development, academic mobility, and integration into the global scientific community.
This achievement confirms the high quality of academic training at the Faculty of Physics and Technology and its active involvement in international educational and research programs.
