National Values as the Foundation of Youth Education: A Festive Event at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University
On March 20, 2026, a significant event took place within the walls of a world-class leading educational institution — Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The festive open curatorial hour, organized by the Department of Finance and Accounting of the Higher School of Economics and Business, was distinguished by a high level of preparation and meaningful content. The event was led by Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor Aizhan Sarsenovna Assilova. Second-year students of the “Finance” educational program actively participated, demonstrating responsibility and creative initiative.
The teaching staff of the department were specially invited to the celebration. The event was organized in a modern format with an emphasis on educational value and adherence to traditions. The performance of traditional kui on the sacred Kazakh dombra gave participants unforgettable spiritual inspiration. The evening awakened a deep interest in cultural heritage among the youth and allowed them to truly feel their national identity.
The main ideological goal of the event was to develop national self-awareness among future specialists, strengthen respect for historical and cultural values, and enhance the human connection between teachers and students. During the event, lecturers delivered sincere congratulations and shared meaningful thoughts that provide life guidance for young people. They emphasized that education and upbringing are inseparable, and that a specialist with strong national values brings great benefit to the state. Professors encouraged students to demonstrate patriotism, social responsibility, and diligence, noting the importance of such meetings in personal development.
A special highlight of the celebration was the traditional national dish — Nauryz kozhe. This dish, prepared for the Nauryz holiday, consists of seven ingredients. The number seven symbolizes the days of the week and carries deep cultural meaning. Many traditions are associated with it: during Nauryz, elders are served seven bowls of Nauryz kozhe; it is customary to invite seven guests and visit seven homes. It is noteworthy that in Uzbekistan, a similar traditional dish called Sumalak is also prepared from seven ingredients.
A traditional white dastarkhan was laid for the guests, and the shared meal became a symbol of friendship, unity, peace, and mutual respect. Participants once again experienced the depth of Kazakh hospitality. Warm and open conversations at the table further strengthened the continuity between generations.
Overall, this open curatorial hour revealed not only the creative potential of students but also demonstrated their organizational and leadership skills. The efforts of active students were highly appreciated by the department. Such meaningful events enrich the spiritual world of future financiers and represent a confident step toward educating conscious and competitive citizens who honor national values. Undoubtedly, such noble initiatives within the university will continue in the future, contributing to the further strengthening of spiritual values and social unity.
