Many outstanding discoveries have been made in recent years in world science by archaeologists. But one of the most striking is the discovery and study of the tomb of a Saka warrior, discovered near the city of Issyk, widely known among the people as the “Golden man”. The Grand discovery back in 1969 was made by a group of archaeologists under the leadership of the scientific Director of the expedition K. Akishev. Nowadays, the «Golden man” on the winged leopard has become the national symbol of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The image of the Saka warrior is the main motif of the Monument of Independence of Kazakhstan, installed on the Central square in Almaty.
The round table was attended by prominent Kazakh archaeologists, heads of research institutes and higher educational institutions, relatives of scientists-archaeologists who participated in the excavations, as well as figures of science and culture of Kazakhstan.
Within the framework of the event, a solemn presentation of the unique exposition "Collection of ancient gold" was held, where original objects made of gold, silver, bronze and other artifacts of the heritage of the Saka culture were presented.
