ISSUES OF AL-FARABI ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION ABROAD
The meeting of Rector Galym Mutanov with representatives of Universities from Turkey, Greece and Syria and international organizations on the conducting of events dedicated to the anniversary of Al-Farabi abroad was held at Al-Farabi KazNU.
As part of celebration of the 1150th anniversary of the Great thinker of the East - Al-Farabi - large-scale events are planned not only in our country, but also abroad. Preparations for them are already underway.
In this regard, Bekir Karlyga, Advisor to the Prime Minister and Chairman of the National Coordination Committee of the United Nations for the Alliance of Civilization of Turkey, Mohammed Maher Kabakibi, President of Damascus University, as well as Senator Alimzhan Kurtayev, Ambassador-at-Large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Kairat Lama Sharif, were invited to the meeting at a leading University of the Republic.
In his welcoming address, the Rector of KazNU, academician Galym Mutanov, emphasized the importance of holding the planned anniversary events abroad, in particular, in Damascus, expressing hope for the support of International Organizations and Universities.
Then Ambassador-at-Large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Kairat Lama Sharif informed the honored guests about what kind of events will going to be unfolded as part of Al-Farabi’s anniversary celebrations abroad. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan has developed a celebration plan that includes more than 250 events, including the opening of five new Al-Farabi centers, as well as a University branch at the Al-Farabi historical and cultural center in Damascus.
Representatives of Universities from Turkey, Greece and Syria expressed their willingness to support the holding of the anniversary events.
