INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AS SECOND COMPETENCE

(Specialization of information systems master)

OPPORTUNITIES

In the field of information technology: software engineering, data bases, development and application of Web applications, networks etc.

In the field of the basic competence by putting the acquired background in information technology to good use: engineering of computer tools, interface design, etc.

PURPOSE OF THE MASTER

It concerns students with a bachelor’s degree in Sciences (except in Information technology) or in Social And Human Sciences, Linguistics, etc.

The main aim is to acquire a further competence in Information technology in order to help the applicants to integrate the labor market with a double competence. The basic course consists of common core in Information technology (systems, networks, data mining, software engineering, programming, web technologies, etc.)

RECRUITMENT REQUIREMENTS

The master applicants are fully accepted if they have a bachelor degree, other than mathematics or computer science; other bachelor holders must fill in an application form for equivalence, their application is reviewed by a committee. Strong motivation and a professional project, including information systems development, are required to succeed this training.

ABOUT PROGRAMM

According to the program of project TEMPUS-159025 «European - Russian - Central Asian Network of Master's Degrees "Information technology as a Second Competence" ERAMIS)”, presented at our university, is planning master degree on information technology as second competence. The point is not to train pure computer scientists, but versatile persons able to combine a good knowledge in engineering, mathematics, physics, economics, management, administration, with competences in computer science, allowing them to implement tomorrow's software tools in a better way and so participating to the necessary modernization of society. This Master program result of work of following universities:

- University of Pierre Mendès, France;

- Savonia University of Applied Sciences, Finland;

- Beuth University of Applied Sciences, Germany;

- Lublin University of Technology, Poland;

- University of Alicante, Spain,.

4 universities from Russian Federation:

- Astrakhan State University;

- Kazan State Technical University;

- Voronezh State University;

- Saratov State Socio-Economic University.

2 universities from Kyrgyzstan:

- Kyrgyz National University, Bishkek;

- Kyrgyz State Technical University, Bishkek.

3 universities from Kazakhstan:

- al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Almaty;

- Karaganda State Technical University, Karaganda;

- Innovative University of Eurasia, Pavlodar.

3 company partners from industry:

- Sofit (Russia);

- Aknet (Kyrgyzstan);

- Systemotechnika (Kazakhstan).

Project will enable the student mobility and double diploma between partner universities. Training will be taught in Kazakh, Russian and English.
