AT THE AL-FARABI KAZNU, THE TRAINING COURSES IN ECOJOURNALISM STARTED

On March 15, 2021, at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, an advanced training course for journalists "Ecological journalism within the framework of Sustainable Development Goals" was launched as part of the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation between the Ministry of Information and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and the Ministry of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, concluded in 2020.

The moderators of the training course were: Head of the Department of Printing and Electronic Media of the Faculty of Journalism, Professor Gulmira Sultanbaeva and Head of the UNESCO Chair for Sustainable Development of the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Sciences, Acting Professor Bazarbayeva Tursynkul.

A welcoming speech at the opening was made by the representative of the UN Department of Global Communications in Kazakhstan - Head of the UN Information Bureau in Kazakhstan, Mr. Vlastimil Samek.

The curriculum of the training course includes topical issues on coverage of environmental problems in the media, environmental education and upbringing, waste disposal and environmental protection. (Program attached)

The speakers will be teachers of Al-Farabi KazNU and the Chairman of the Association of Practicing Ecologists.

Training takes place in an offline format at the address Almaty, Al-Farabi Ave., 71/27, Scientific Library of Al-Farabi KazNU, No. 308, Abay Hall. Participants will receive certificates of completion of the “Ecological Journalism” course.
