“Poetry should begin with love and end with decency ”
This year celebrates the 90th anniversary (1931-1976) of the birth of the great Kazakh poet Mukagali Makatayev, therefore the English Debate Club devoted a regular meeting to the activities of this poet. On April 8, the teacher of the Department of Foreign Languages, Khasanova S.А. held an online meeting with students of S. Toraigyrov Pavlodar State University. During the meeting, the students learned that M. Makatayev's work is the golden fund of Kazakh poetry. The talent, born in the first half of the twentieth century, absorbing the national origins in spirit and body, has become the most beloved poet of his people. The students noted that, as the poet himself said, “Poetry should begin with love and end with decency ”, thus he called on people to be honest, kind, to bring up love for the Motherland in the young generation, respect their native land and native language, honor the elders and appreciate every moment of peacetime.
