AWARDED THE WINNERS OF THE BEST STUDENT INNOVATION PROJECTS 2021

According to the results of the online competition of the best student innovative projects within the framework of student business incubators of Al-Farabi KazNU, the best of the best project was recognized as the project for the development of an algorithm for the diagnosis of IgA nephropathy in children, the author of which is a 2nd year master's student of the specialty "Medicine" of Al-Farabi KazNU. Farabi Dinara Demeubaeva.

Largely thanks to the competent mentoring and support of the scientific supervisor - Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Health Policy and Organization of the Faculty of Medicine and Healthcare Gulnar Kapanova - Dinara Demeubaeva achieved success.

The relevance of the work of a talented young researcher lies in the fact that IgA nephropathy in children is detected at late stages and currently there are no criteria for early diagnosis in order to timely conduct targeted therapy. “For the first time, we have developed a new model of a diagnostic algorithm using Omix technologies for early detection of IgA nephropathy in children, the advantages of which are: non-invasiveness, information content, the possibility of dynamic monitoring of the effectiveness of targeted therapy, predicting end-stage chronic renal failure (ESRD),” said the winner. - The method provides prevention and therapy for the progression of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and an increase in the patient's survival and quality of life. The economic effect in this case exceeds the patient's costs six times. "

It should be noted that a biopsy is done according to strict indications, as a rule, when chronic kidney disease occurs, which can further progress to renal failure. The cost of a biopsy is 200,000 - 250,000 tenge, while a blood test for C3, C4-IgA1 is 2,000 tenge, for Gd-IgA1 - 39,000 tenge.

According to the young scientist, the new method will make it possible to introduce this analysis into practical health care, which will be carried out in patients with the presence of blood elements and protein in the urine already in the early stages to exclude IgA nephropathy. The inclusion of the analysis in screening will reduce the number of severe forms and complications of nephropathy, the level of disability, as well as obtain an economic effect from the mass analysis of blood for C3, C4 by the PCR method. Thus, the new diagnostic algorithm developed by the students of KazNU will significantly reduce the cost of biopsy and will contribute to improving the quality of life of the population.

By the decision of the jury of the competition, the second place was awarded to three different projects. The first is the development of the 2nd and 3rd year students of the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science, who launched the psychological social project "Qadam". It is an online platform for special children and their parents based on the instagram application to provide psychological and social assistance in the development of the child's cognitive world.

The second place was also won by the Polygraph project, created by Nazerke Abylai, a student of the Faculty of Physics and Technology. As the author herself said, "the project is distinguished by its small dimensions, software and the ability to record signals simultaneously from six sensors, it was tested at the center of the Kazakhstan Association of Polygraph examiners and showed positive results."

The 4th year students of the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology took the second place with the project "Development of the industrial cultivation of Clarias gariepinus in mini-closed water supply units (mini-SCW)". As the developers noted, “we have proposed a new budget option for fish farming, which is suitable both for novice fish farmers with small areas for fish farming, and for large fish farming companies. This technology will significantly reduce the cost of fish, thanks to which a good dietary product will become available to Kazakhstanis. "

Students of the Faculty of Information Technology presented a project on ensuring security in social networks, which won the third prize. The development has a scientific novelty in the form of a software module for collecting and analyzing data to determine the extremist orientation in web resources, and can be used to ensure information security in countering Internet extremism.

The third prize was awarded to the students of the preparatory course of the faculty of pre-university education - the authors of the project aimed at popularizing the national crafts of the Kazakh people. The students surprised everyone with the ability to independently roll a felt mat and make various souvenirs out of it with an application in the form of the KazNU building, for example, a bag for a mobile phone and a thermos bag.

Master student of the Faculty of Journalism Berikbol Tolegen, known for the educational projects Qaztest.kz, Martebe.kz and Ozattar.kz, which are popular today in Kazakhstan, also runs the Skills academy language platform, through which you can develop knowledge of several languages and skills. At the first stage, the author of the project plans to launch his product on the market in May, with the subsequent release of the mobile version.
