The administration of the Mega Almaty shopping and entertainment center allocated a place for the vaccination station on the ground floor, on the site of an ice rink, and equipped it with everything necessary in accordance with sanitary and hygienic requirements. Direct vaccination is carried out by employees of the city polyclinic No. 4 in Almaty.

At the entrance to the vaccination station there is a device for issuing a ticket to the queue. Then the number on the coupon is displayed on the board and the person is invited to receive the vaccine. A waiting area for their turn for vaccination was organized, observing social distance; vaccination tents, where the doctor first conducts a full physical examination, after which, in the absence of contraindications, vaccination is carried out directly.

There is also a waiting room, where patients are observed after vaccination for 30 minutes, hot and cold drinks are immediately available for everyone. Coordinators from among the employees of the shopping and entertainment center, as well as the teaching staff of the Department of Politics and Health Organization of Al Farabi KazNU, undergraduates and doctoral students of the department work in parallel. In addition, an intelligent robot is installed at the point, capable of answering questions of interest.

In this vaccination station, two drugs are offered to choose from: Sputnik-V of Russian production or Hayat-Vax of Chinese production, bottled in the UAE. The work is carried out according to the approved schedule in the "Mega Almaty" shopping and entertainment center every day in three shifts. The vaccination center is open from 9.00 to 20.00 without days off and lunch breaks.

Volunteers from the Department of Health Policy and Organization of the Faculty of Medicine and Healthcare of Al Farabi KazNU conduct explanatory work with the population on the pharmacological properties of vaccines, types of vaccines, the need for herd immunity, and they also answer questions that interest not only those who came for vaccinations, but also for visitors to the mall. In parallel, an anonymous survey is being conducted on public awareness of vaccination.

The most frequent questions include: “What is the difference between Sputnik-V and Hayat-Vax?”, “Which vaccine is easier for older people to tolerate?”, “Can the second component of the vaccine be administered after 21 days?”, “I missed the introduction of the second component of the vaccine, do I need to receive the first component again? ”,“ How long after vaccination can I plan a pregnancy? ”.

It should be noted that vaccination is carried out free of charge to all interested citizens of Kazakhstan who have reached the age of majority, as well as foreign citizens. For successful vaccination, residents of Kazakhstan only need to have an identity card with them; non-residents - a residence permit.
