GRADUATES DAY DEDICATED TO INDEPENDENCE
Al-Farabi Kazakh National University celebrated Graduate Day. This event is held annually on the last Saturday of May. This year the meeting was dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Kazakhsta's independence.
Famous graduates of different years gathered at the Trimphal Arch "Mangilik El", who were greeted by the Chairman of the Board-Rector of the Kazakh National University named after al-Farabi Zhanseit Tuimebayev.
Chairman of the Constitutional Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan, President of the Alumni Association of KazNU Kairat Mami, poet Olzhas Suleimenov, prominent statesman Igor Rogov, rector of Turan University Rakhman Alshanov, academician Tolegen Kozhamkulov, head of the Ecomed polyclinic Saltanat Baikoshkarova, general director of Vostochnoye Ore Mining LLP on behalf of the graduates, they laid flowers at the monument to academician U. Zholdasbekov and the monument to Al-Farabi.
The graduates visited the halls of Farabi, Elbasy, Abai, Alash in the university library and got acquainted with the exhibition of books and paintings.
After that, the ceremonial meeting of the Presidium of the KazNU Alumni Association began. It was opened by the Chairman of the Constitutional Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan, President of the Alumni Association Kairat Mami, who spoke about the work carried out by alumni-patrons. It was noted that the opening of the stele-clock "Mangilik El" will take place in the near future.
Kairat Mami said in his speech that “Graduate Day is a demonstration of sincere respect for our teachers, professors and colleagues. This is the day of our special love and gratitude to KazNU named after Al-Farabi! " - stressed the speaker, congratulating the graduates of the university on the holiday.
During the meeting, the rector of KazNU named after V.I. Al-Farabi Zhanseit Tuimebayev and the head of the Bugin Holding Aibek Kuatbayev.
The name of Aibek Kuatbayev is known in all corners of the republic. It was he who laid the foundation for the project "Educational online platform Daryn.online" with the aim of raising the level of education of Kazakhstani schoolchildren, especially in rural areas. This year, during the spring quarantine, Daryn.online provided free services to all students.
Speaking at the meeting, the rector of the university Zhanseit Tuimebayev spoke about the forthcoming book “Kairatkerler Koltaqbasy. Autographs of Authorities ", which tells about those graduates who stood at the origins of the formation of a sovereign state.
The significant events held on the eve of the Alumni Day were also noted. Among them - the opening of an audience at the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Management named after Olzhas Suleimenov, a beach volleyball sports tournament dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the poet. It is also planned to open classrooms named after Kopzhasar Naribayev and Kenzhegali Sagadiev.
During the ceremonial meeting, statesman, diplomat, scholar Turkologist Myrzatai Zholdasbekov and famous public figure, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Lyaila Akhmetova were awarded the gold medal "Asa kornekti tulek".
Also, the head of the university, Zhanseit Tuimebayev, held a solemn awarding ceremony, where Doctor of Biological Sciences Saltanat Baikoshkarova and Candidate of Technical Sciences Zelina Katranov were nominated for the titles "Honorary Professor of KazNU named after Al-Farabi "and" Honorary Doctor of KazNU named after Al-Farabi ".
Finally, scholarships were awarded to the best students of 2021 on behalf of the sponsors. Online meetings with alumni were held at all faculties.
