PARTICIPATION IN THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE IN TASHKENT

On June 23-26, 2022, the VII Summer Conference of the Society for Central Eurasian Studies (CESS) was held in Tashkent, the capital of the Republic of Uzbekistan, at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy. This conference became a platform for discussing problems related to the history, social development, culture and literature of Central Eurasia and Central Asia, which was attended by about 300 scientists from leading universities of the world.

At this conference, Gulmira Salimzhanovna Sultangalieva, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor of the Department of World History, Historiography and Source Studies of the Historical Faculty of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, and senior lecturer Abdrakhim Miras Yerkinovich made scientific reports. In particular, Professor Sultangalieva G.S. made a report on the topic “Reflection of Kazakh deputations to The imperial court on the pages of periodicals and portraits (second half of the 19th century)” and was a chair in the scientific panel called “Dynasties of the Kazakh nomadic elite in the context of social transformations in the XIX century”. And senior lecturer Abdrakhim M.Ye. within this panel made a report on the topic “Obeying the will of the father ...”: motives for entering the civil service of the Kazakh officials of the Semirechensk oblast”. It is worth noting that the discussant of this panel was Professor Alexander Morrison from Oxford University, UK.

Thus, at this conference, Professor of the department Sultangalieva G.S. and senior lecturer Abdrakhim M.Ye. made presentations and also exchanged experiences after hearing reports from various scientists dealing with multiple problems in Central Asia.
