International Round Table

11 february, 2023

On February 8, 2023, an international round table "The influence of analytical centers of the EAEU countries on the socio-political agenda" was held. The event was organized within the framework of cooperation between the Institute of Cross-Border Cooperation and Integration (Belgorod) and the Institute of Regional Studies and Cooperation (Yerevan, Republic of Armenia). The event was attended by representatives of 8 analytical centers (including 3 Russian academic institutes) and 3 universities from four EAEU countries (Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia), as well as Pridnestrovie.

Viktor Sapryka, Director of the Institute for Cross-Border Cooperation and Integration, addressed the participants of the forum with a welcoming speech, who noted the need to consolidate the analytical centers of the EAEU countries, as well as the need to intensify interregional cooperation.

Grigor Balasanyan (Institute of Regional Studies and Cooperation, Yerevan), Ardak Turginbayeva (Department of Management of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Almaty), Nikolay Mezhevich (Institute of Europe of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow), Olga Lazorkina (Belarusian Institute of Strategic Studies, Minsk), Igor Shornikov (Institute of Socio-Political Studies and Regional Development, Minsk Tiraspol), Larisa Shmigirilova (Belgorod State National Research University, Belgorod).

Maxim Vilisov, a leading researcher at the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies of the INION RAS, made a report on the topic "The influence of analytical centers of the EAEU countries on the socio-political agenda", prepared based on the results of a scientific project under a grant from the EISI and the Ministry of Education and Science.

As a result of the discussion that followed, a proposal was made to create an "incubator of analytical centers" on the basis of the INION RAS, which will provide scientific, methodological, informational, analytical and educational support to analytical centers of the EAEU countries. A successful groundwork in this direction is the activity of the Eurasian Information and Analytical Consortium (http://ukros.ru ), in which INION RAS has been actively involved as a central participant for several years.

Within the framework of the event, an international cooperation agreement was signed between the Institute of Regional Studies and Cooperation (Republic of Armenia, Yerevan) and the Institute of Cross-Border Cooperation and Integration (Russia, Belgorod).
