A cultural event dedicated to Kazakh-Chinese friendship was held
On February 27, 2023, the presentation of the Kazakh language translation of the work of the modern Chinese writer Wang Meng called "The Land of Beautiful Scenery" and the exhibition of the works of the teachers of the Department of Chinese Studies were held jointly by the "Eastern Literature" publishing company and the Chinese Studies Department of the Oriental Studies Faculty of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. This event was organized within the framework of the 10th anniversary of the “The Belt and Road" initiative and the Chinese Culture Day. Mr. Mu Ping, the founder and CEO of the "Chance" international media group and the "Eastern Literature" publishing company, who flew to Kazakhstan specifically to participate in this event. Cultural representatives of China and Kazakhstan, poets-writers, Chinese scholars and students took part in the meeting organized in the library of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. Books from the "Eastern Literature" publishing house and recently published works of the teachers of the Department of Chinese Studies were exhibited at the exhibition organized in the lobby of the library. Apart from that, master classes on Chinese hieroglyph writing, artistic paper cutting were organized there, and the traditional Chinese art of tea brewing was demonstrated. Among the specially invited guests who gave a congratulatory speech and expressed their heartfelt condolences in the official part of the meeting were Ms. Zhong Hua, Deputy Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Almaty, R.B. Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies Mr. Masimkhanuly, chairman of the translation section of the Writers' Union of Kazakhstan, writer, translator Mr. Zamanbek Abdeshovichi, chairman of the National State Book Chamber of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mr. Koytanov A., Deputy Director of the Institute of Literature and Art named after M. Auezov, Mr. Kydyr, representative of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan, librarian Ms. Kamiya Kadai were present. A special feature of the meeting was a video presentation in Kazakh by the author of the book, the famous Chinese classical writer Mr. Wang Myn. Mr. Li Chunkai, director of "New World" publishing house, also sent a special greeting from China with a video. The speech of the Chinese figures, who have made an immeasurable contribution to the friendly relations between the two countries, was warmly received by the audience. This event, built on true relationships, was held at a very high level. Undoubtedly, the contribution of such events to the closer acquaintance of the peoples of China and Kazakhstan, the further revival of cultural ties, and the development of cooperation between two countries is enormous.
